Like many others, cancer has affected my family's life. My aunt and great aunt are breast cancer survivors, another great aunt is a uterine cancer survivor, and my grandmother died of bile duct cancer. In addition, a great grandfather died of esophageal cancer, a great grandmother of breast cancer, a great uncle of melanoma, another great uncle of intestinal cancer, and finally, my aunt's father passed away from prostate cancer and melanoma.

It's a tradition at my temple, Shir Tikvah, for B'nai Mitzvah students to give back to a cause they choose because it is significant to them. I've chosen to donate to the American Cancer Society in hope of finding a cure for this terrible disease.

I am making beaded bracelets using bead colors that represent many common forms of cancer. All proceeds will be donated to the ACS. Please consider helping to support my cause.

Done

Wow.  It's all finally done! Thanks to everyone for supporting me. I raised over $1400!!!!!!!!!! Pretty incredible but I couldn't have done it without you guys.

$1,000

I don't believe it. But it's true!!!!! Thanks to your help, I had raised $1,000 dollars by the spring. Hopefully this will help make a difference. I am busy preparing for my Bat Mitzvah (which is coming up soon) but I am still taking orders.
You all are fantastic and I couldn't have raised this much without you.

Goal met! But not done yet...

I can't believe it, but I have met my goal of $500!! Exceeded it, actually - I've raised over $660. I would like to reach a new goal of $1,000 to donate to the American Cancer Society.  Thank you so much for helping me get to my goal. It really means a lot to me that so many people have helped support my cause.

Behind...

As some of you may know, I am a little behind on my bracelet orders, so please bear with me! I will get your bracelets to you as soon as possible. This does not mean that you should not order bracelets! Also, I have gotten a lot of orders for larger bracelets than the ones I am making. They are 7 1/2 inches long currently. If you have gotten a larger bracelet or want a larger bracelet please let me know what size works or what size you think will work for your wrist! Thanks for your help.

Starting up!

I'm so excited to have started. I have all my supplies and already have made a bunch of basic bracelets. I will be selling at school, Hebrew School, and other events that will be donating to cancer foundations. Soon I'll figure out when and where these events will be taking place.
